- THOUGT,
FEELING, SENSATION.
The
extraordinary experience Gurdjieff offered through harmonizing the different
sources of energy within the body call for a new attention. He enabled
the pupil to free himself from the narrow circle of his automatism, opening
him to a higher level of consciousness. He could then participate in the
essential life of his being and discover the movement of an energy which
alone can bring about inner transformation.
Through these movements which Gurdjieff again and again
renewed over the years, dance becomes a language where each gesture, each
attitude, each sequence has its specific role and meaning.
It is very difficult to have a new attention which will
bring a new understanding, not old ideas but something new, real. For
that, the mind and the body must function together and I see that the
mind has its own movements, the body has its own movement and the feeling
also has its own movement.
They must have a movement together. They must have an
exchange of energy. In this exchange, the energy has a new quality. It
is an energy of a higher quality.

There is an energy which comes from the mind, from another
part of the mind to which I am not open today. I see that it is always
a part of my mind that is always full of experiences that all the time
comes and takes away my attention. But there is another part of my mind
where there is intelligence and a capacity of seeing that is not dependant
on all the material there is in it.
I need to be in relation with this part of my mind and
I see that I have a vision which is absolutely clear. I see myself, I
see other people, I see what is without reaction, very clearly. I see
myself as I am.

Be aware of the energy inside yourself. Try to see.
The energy in you animates all your movements, fills your body. Bring
awareness on the sensations of the movement. Not only on my arm. I see
my movements and, at the same time, I am aware that I am here. My body
is under my attention. My attention is the strongest force.
At the same time, with the same force, my attention
I on all the parts of myself, my body, my mind, my feelings. My mind is
on my movements. My feelings also. My movement has a meaning. My mind
has always ideas passing by. In order to remain with my body, the ideas
must not take the attention. That is a relation that needs to establish
itself. It is a new energy. If it is not there, my movement is automatic.
